With hindsight we can say that Robb Elementary did not adequately prepare for the risk of anarmed intruder on campus.
I usually keep the door open to my classroom so students feel welcome and could come in if they come late. Apparently this is dangerous?
Eleni Economides Gastis
I think it would be really helpful to not review another report from another state and another facility. Mr. Thomas, respectfully, the folks in this room need to know what to do. What is your plan?
Eleni Economides Gastis
What is OUR plan?
I’m completely confused. Is the speaker going to tell us what we are supposed to do in regards to our particular campus? And, same as Meryl. I always leave my door open. Am I not supposed to?
Do teachers present today keep their cell phones on and out when they are teaching at Laney?
We'll get to these questions / shortly
My cell phone is on and on vibrate in my pocket and because I work at night 6 pm- 10 pm I lock my door 15 min after class. Students can knock on the door and enter at anytime.
Entrance to the Forum
Entrance to Admissions and Records?
Trick question! Boooooo!!!!
So is it Peralta's police policy to keep active classroom doors always closed?
Are we going to learn how to respond to an active shooter today?
Wasn't the biggest issue at Robb Elementary the lack of response and coordination between the law enforcement agencies?
And for COVID; airflow
I think we have to figure out, are we more feaful of covid or an active shooter. Great choice.
Maybe we could get bullet proof furniture?
I have the same question as Kimberly.
Here's the response video and a few more safety items will be covered as well.
Knowledge Saves Lives - an interactive training hopefully in November.
Aside from 911- is there a Peralta number we can call if there is an emergency? Medina security?
Which law enforcement agency will respond if, god forbid, there is an active shooter at our college?
Does anyone hear the audio clearly?
No can't hear
Can you share the audio
Video is glitchy and no sound
No, I can't hear it.
Is this slow motion or tech difficulties?
We cant really hear the video
Maybe just put the link in chat
sorry, we'll get a link to the video
Sound is on and off.
The video is here: https://youtu.be/TeOdxKozra0
One moment Eleni.
We know the US is a front runner in this. This isn’t helpful, sir.
Is this info to scare us? I was hoping to focus on keeping us safe.
Thank you!! I agree.
We don't have fire extinguishers in our classrooms, though.
Hence I thought of bullet proof furniture.
Is there a Laney police phone number we should call when this happens?
@phone numbers: one can call 911 from any phone on campus; can call dispatch 510-466-7236, or hit the emergency button on the campusshield app
is that 24/7?
@24/7 = yes
If there is an active shooter near campus, will we be notified via the emergency text, or do the alerts just go out when the active shooter is on our campus.

Will the B - quad classrooms be redesigned to have better air quality and good doors and windows? Bullet proof glass perhaps? Amy can you ask this question?
What is phase 1 mean?
Are those 6 remaining cameras at Laney the parking lot cameras?
Does one camera configured mean only one camera is working?
What does Cameras Configured mean?
Do we also get recordings from the cameras, if needed?
